In the four months from March to June, eight per cent of South Australians with hepatitis C started treatment, according to the Kirby Institute.

Nationally, about ten per cent commenced hepatitis C treatment in this period. This is an estimated 15,943 people.

Most scripts were filled at community pharmacies, with Sofosbuvir/Ledispasvir topping the list at almost 60 per cent of prescriptions.
