There was an overwhelming attendance at the PEACE multicultural services and Hepatitis SA World Hepatitis Day lunch on 30 July.

More than 150 community members from various cultural backgrounds turned up for the lunch which was also a mega-workshop on hepatitis B. Following a presentation on hepatitis B topics including global prevalence, transmission, testing and treatment, participants were asked to discuss what they had learnt and what else they wanted to know.

A positive speaker was also on hand to talk about his personal experience with hepatitis B.

Questions which were raised at the table discussions were shared with everyone and answered by the PEACE and Hepatitis SA staff present.

Communities represented at the lunch included Italian, Persian, Afghani, Bhutanese, Chinese, Sierra Leonean, Iranian, Sudanese and others.
