National Reconciliation Week ends today and here’s a quick wrap of what we found in the– mostly public broadcast – media. Click on the items to read, watch or listen to the stories.
Besides interesting dramas and documentaries, there were news reports on calls to start a national truth-telling process, and some cool, inspiring actions from community. The WA government announced a long-awaited Stolen Generations redress scheme; and the tragic death in custody of a young Aboriginal man, during Reconciliation Week, reminds us of the truth that First Nations people live with every day.
