Hepatitis SA runs four Clean Needle Program (CNP) sites at Hackney, Noarlunga, Port Adelaide, and Salisbury, as well as a syringe vending machine at Hackney. Our CNP Peers also attend rostered sessions at other sites at various times during the week.

We are approaching the COVID-19 pandemic with an abundance of caution in line with the recommendations of health experts.

This article explains what this means for our CNP clients and provides important information for people who inject drugs.

Hepatitis SA CNP sites are located at Hackney, Noarlunga, Port Adelaide, and Elizabeth. All operate during normal office hours and stock a full range of free needles and syringes, plus water and filters for sale. We also operate a 24 hour syringe vending machine at Hackney, which dispenses clean needles at a cost of $2 per pack.

Hepatitis SA's CNP sites at Noarlunga, Port Adelaide, and Elizabeth are fully staffed by peer workers who have personal experience and knowledge around injecting drug use and also have up-to-date knowledge on hepatitis B, hepatitis C and other blood borne viruses.

The CNP peer educators are also available regularly at other CNP sites in metropolitan Adelaide including at the Hepatitis SA premises at Hackney.
